Brain Wash

Tonight hundreds of others and me got happily brainwashed by bloodsucking skateboard company, Toy Machine.

The brain wash was offered earlier tonight only.

All of Toy Machine's loyal pawns attended The Gaslamp for the buck wildness.

All of these people, waiting in line to get brainwashed?!

Mr. Templeton spread the love to his puppets.

My minion ticket.

Loyal pawn number one, two, and three.

Found ourselves a nice little nook.

Trent McClung ready to get brainwashed.

All of those posters were gone by the end of the show.

Toy Machine about to set it off.

Not just the face of death, the beginning of Brain Wash

 And so it begins...

If you care for a review there's not much to write about and I'm pretty lazy to write at all. But I will say this... The video was short and sweet but mostly short. Leo surprisingly came through with a banging last part in compliments to his jaw dropping Stay Gold section. Daniel Lutheran had my favorite part. A hammering opener sprinkled with two brother Lutheran bangers. As a whole, I wish I could have seen more from Bennett, Marks, and Trapasso. It felt as though they were all meshed into a giant shared part. On a positive note, Provost is still putting in some good work and J.-Lay surely isn't taking those Vans checks for granted. Pay attention to Jordan Taylor as well. Even though I expected a bit more, Brain Wash made for an amazing Toy Machine promotion and wowed the masses of faithful moppets.

Huntington Highlights

Went out to Orange County not to long ago and clipped some goodness. Peep our progress.

First we started off at Bolsa Chica beach. The ledges were sand blasted pretty bad but we still made do...

Well, Nico tried at least.

Philly Steez Steak got a switch cheese in.

Then Steven stomped this frontside flip for the blog.

Somehow we got kicked out of this spot on the side of the road. We should have been thanked for skating it!

Made our way to this nice little triple set. It's actually pretty long and really hard to skate.

The homies came through for some afternoon chillin'. Even though they took it easy we still ended our day successfully.

Business In Brea

Here's some blog coverage of our last mission up through Brea. First stop, La Habra Skatepark.

Started the day off here to work on our skatepark hero swag.

Next stop, Brea Skatepark. Met up with some more homies over here and worked on some more skatepark hero swag.

Gotta tip my hat to The Butcher for his ollie on this massive triple set. "I look at most things and think, okay, that's possible. I look at this thing and think, fucking impossible." -Nate Klein.

The man is not human.

Knowing full well we weren't touching that triple set, we decided to pay more attention to this, more welcoming gap.

Mikey fired up the session with this warm up ollie.

Alex was hyped on this bump to gap.

No one else was hyped on the bump to gap so we exchanged it for this bump to barrier.

Steven gots it.

Then we found this relatively untouched bank to ledge.

The skate stopper stopper Chris made the spot a little more skate-able.

Nate gots it.

Alex got broke so he found a good spot to chill. Get well soon homie. Derp!

After a pretty successful mission we called it a day then dipped out home.

Origin

Last night me and some good friends had the privilege of making the Habitat premiere for "Origin." Lots and lots of videos are dropping right now. It was nice saying what's up to all the homies and seeing some world class skateboarding go down. Overall the video showcased some good ass talent, stuck to its Habitat roots, and gave a good glimpse into what the company has accomplished for skateboarding in the past ten years.

Here we can see a hungry Marius Syvanen getting a boosty 5-0. You'll never believe what Silas pulled on that thing.

The Art Theatre of Long Beach hosted graciously. Surprised they still cater to skate heads after what happened at Toy Machine's, "Suffer The Joy" premiere.

Roy came through with his fresh line up.

So hyped for "The Social Network." Wait, no...

Not the crowd I was expecting.

We got there early enough for them money seats!

So good to finally see that symbolic Habitat snake for the third time.

As far as "Origin" goes, I'd say I was pretty happy with what everyone put out. It may have not been any Emerican "Stay Gold," but it was definitely a classic Habitat masterpiece. I'm glad they stuck with their original discipline on that one. I can easily say Austyn Gillette fired off the video right with a creative, wholesome opener part. Although Danny Garcia took it fairly easy and only had a small teaser part, Janoski came through hard and sold his signature switch flip like no other, not to mention those signature Nike's. Most of the amatuer team pulled through with good footage but I was a little disappointed to see Alex Davis pushed into a three person East coast part. I would expect more from a newly added no name. At least Mark Sucui lived up to his freshly acquired amatuer status. By the way, it's stupid how good the Habitat international team is. As soon as the video began to slow down I felt the pace quickly pick up when Guru Khalsa's name popped up on screen. The dude rips. Not in a jump off some stairs and skate a big handrail kind of way, but a more obscure, crispier way. Note the nollie gap to front crook fakie. Next up, my all time favorite since Inhabitants came through with an amazing ender part. I wouldn't expect any less from Silas Baxter-Neal yet at the same time I don't know how to expect any more from him. Something about that bow legged, fast-paced shredder never gets old to me. I want to say his part could have used a better last trick to end the video on but after some thought, I'd say that dude deserves last part regardless. He's got at least a dozen bangers throughout. I may have had a few issues with the formatting of the video, what with Garcia's part being in the opening and the ten year memory montage being in the end, but I won't hesitate by saying "Origin" is simply a must see. Go buy it!

Cerritos Skatepark Montage Vol. 2

An old mega montage of Cerritos Skatepark that I finally decided to post...

Filmed and edited by Steven Ban.

Ledge Games

Here's some more pictures of productive times. Worked our way out towards Orange County a few weekends ago. Here's is a lil' look into our recent trip.

From the mouth of Roy Foner himself, "At least somebody loves him!"

Phil got trendy.

And he got techy. Good thing I was there to film it all.

Lil' Chris hitting the ledge backside. By the way, thanks to Mikey for those last two shots.

Josh hates the spots we go to now. You can see it in his face.

Mikey still passing the time as the other dudes try and stack lines.

Roy was so bored he resorted to pyromania.

The fire soon drew in the young one.

Next stop. Circle gap.

Lil' Chris took some harsh slams on this one.

You gotta pay to play.

Glendale Meets Griffith

Some highlight sessions from the past month. We went on some good missions to Glendale and Griffith during September. I can't believe it's already October. Time is flying too fast...

Mr. Olympic came through for the buck wildness. For the oldest dude on the crew he picked up a lot of the slack.

See what I mean? Most of Mikey will be seen sitting on his ass as apposed to riding on a skateboard...

This hubba means business. And no, Mikey didn't even bother to look at it...

Paid a visit to butters eight rail.

Baby Chris warmin' up on the baby eight rail.

Again, Mikey can be seen not skating. Just peep the expression on Ryan's face. I'm not the only disappointed one.

Needless to say Mikey redeemed himself at Griffith Park. Lots of good tricks went down at this fun spot. You can peep Mikey's buckness when the video drops. As for now, we'll let Nate do the talking...

He's got big plans.

This is just the start of Nate's tyranny over Griffith Park.

Homie almost caught his dome on that tree branch! Why you going so fast!?

Lil' Chris got his trick in too.

After which, Nate towed us to our car after a successful session. Good footage all around.

Ended the day with happy stomachs. Street food is the best food! Cheers homies.
